Greenery Haven is intended to be off the grid in order to foster green and sustainable design. This project reimagines the traditional concept of a living space, by combining sustainable practices, whilst providing a comfortable balance amongst living, working and exploring the occupant’s hobbies. The positive psychological impacts of “Greenery Haven” can be attributed to the incorporation of biophilic design.

To operate entirely off-grid, the home incorporates several sustainable systems:
-
Rainwater Harvesting System: Rainwater is collected from the roof, filtered, and stored in underground cisterns. This system supplies water for irrigation, toilet flushing, and cleaning, reducing dependency on municipal water.
-
Greywater & Wastewater Management: Used water from sinks and showers is treated on-site and repurposed for non-potable uses.
-
Solar Panels & Battery Storage: Photovoltaic panels supply electricity for daily use, supported by battery storage for uninterrupted off-grid functionality.

Aquaphonic Greenhouse System
This integrated system combines aquaculture and hydroponics in a closed-loop environment. Fish waste provides natural nutrients for the plants, while the plants filter and purify the water, which is then recirculated back to the fish tanks. This symbiotic setup reduces water usage and eliminates chemical fertilizers.
